Water. For Good

World Water Day, an initiative designated by the United Nations in 1992, reminds the world that there is still an urgent need to preserve and distribute the most precious resource for life and society.

The theme for World Water Day 2019 is ‘Leaving no one behind’. This is an adaptation of the central promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: as sustainable development progresses, everyone must benefit. Accessing clean and safe water resources should be recognized as a basic human right, regardless of other social, economical, gender, or ethnical reasons.

Looking at the numbers, around 4 billion people - nearly two-thirds of the world’s population - experience severe water scarcity during at least one month of the year; 2.1 billion people live without safe water at home.

Mazars, an active stakeholder in global water sustainable development practices, believes that professional consultancy firms also have an essential role to play. We strive to promote Business. For Good ™. We assist businesses and the society to establish a strong leadership, foster stewardship and share best practices and improve transparency.

Joining this year’s celebration of Global Water Day shows not only does Mazars advocate for important issues, but our global community also walks the walk.

Mazars USA publishes the 2019 US Water Outlook

Mazars USA issued the first Water Industry Outlook in 2012, with the aim of playing our part in leading the education and research needed to support sustainable solutions for all forms of water services.

In this year’s outlook, we continue to provide perspective on key topics surrounding operations, finance, and future trends. In a continuous effort to improve this publication and increase its value, we have focused the operations section on big data and data analytics.

We are pleased to continue contributing to the ongoing discussion of how to best address the water industry’s challenges, and providing education surrounding this field. For more information, click here .

Survey in Chile to gauge water risk & impact

In 2018, Mazars conducted, with the support of YouGov, a global survey of c-level executives across all industries. This year, to celebrate World Water Day , we decided to assess the impact on business by surveying more than 265 C-level, or equivalent, executives in Chile across more than 20 sectors.
