Business vs. Taxes – Finance and Taxation

Mazars was the partner of the 2017 edition of The National Tax and Financial Forum “Business vs. Taxes – Finance and Taxation” organized by Movida Conferences which was held on 6-8 June 2017 in Warsaw.

Experts of the largest consulting firms, academics and governmental administration representatives presented the understanding of questionable tax and accounting law provisions in a clear way, approached the practice of tax inspection bodies and analyzed practical aspects of amendments to the relevant legislation introduced in 2017.

During the Forum the following topics were discussed:

  • new penal regulations concerning VAT fraud
  • the standard audit file for tax, practice in 2016 and 2017
  • tax avoidance clause - the authorities practice
  • 2017-2018 tax planning - protective value
  • National Tax Administration
  • CFC - how they work in practice

  • CIT changes – the tax-free payment of a dividend

Kinga Baran, Director of Mazars Tax Advisory Department presented the topic: “Individual interpretations vs. protective tax rulings – how to protect transactions in 2017.”; she discussed differences between individual interpretations and protective tax rulings, and the formal requirements related to them following the amendment of tax provisions.

Moreover, the Mazars expert presented a specific case study on chain transactions during the workshop day. Participants  analyzed it in groups, presented the solutions they had worked out and discussed them in detail, which was a great opportunity to put the newly gained knowledge into practice.
